The roads tend to be rather busy, so you may want to come by train. Connections to Gent Sint-Pieters station from Brussels take half-an-hour. The station is fifteen minutes away on tram number 1. Connections to Gent Dampoort station from Antwerp take about 40 minutes. This station is ten minutes walk from the quiet residential street Kwaadham, 100 metres away from the cathedral.
